“Provide a forum for the exchange of information that enhances the management, conservation, and restoration of native and introduced Salmonid populations and their habitats throughout the North Central Division of AFS.”

News:

The Salmonid Technical Committee has not been active for many years in the North Central Division. As of 2024, the Chairs have restarted the Committee to provide a space for coldwater biologists to collaborate across the North Central Division. Welcome!

 2025 Salmonid symposium – hosted by STC and Missouri Trout Working Group

  • Title: Building Resilient Salmonid Populations with Multi-faceted Management and Research Approaches
  • 19 presentations
  • The Salmonid Technical Committee partnered with the Missouri Trout Working Group to host a salmonid and coldwater focused symposium at the 2025 Midwest Fish and Wildlife Conference. There was a fantastic turnout and great collaboration amongst attendees.

2025 Salmonid Award

STC created and advertised the first STC-sponsored Salmonid Award in order to financially assist two students to attend the 2025 Midwest Fish and Wildlife Conference. Kamden Ball, undergraduate from SDSU and Gwendolyn Phillips, undergraduate from Lake Superior State University were the 2025 award winners. Winners received a $250 check and framed award at the 2025 Midwest Salmonid Symposium.
